Club History - Chartered April 19, 1928

First President – James Clark

Sponsor – Baltimore Rotary Club, assisted by Annapolis Club

Some notable activities:
  • Founded first Boy Scout Troop in Ellicott City
  • Furnished trophies and awards for the 4H programs
  • Distributed Christmas Baskets to the needy
  • Donated sight and sound equipment to B&O Railroad Museum
  • Christmas in April (now Rebuilding Together) projects
  • Facilitated replacing steps at AME Methodist Church, (Main Street, Ellicott City)
  • College scholarship program since 1960
  • Haiti disaster relief; partnership with Build Haiti Foundation

  The Ellicott City Rotary Club was the first Rotary Club in Howard County, MD.

  Today we take pride in our long history of service to our community and the world.
